BIRTH | Well hello there Baby Fynn

My beautiful friend delivered a perfect baby boy last week and I was privileged and delighted to be there to witness his entrance into our world. I’m so in love with this little guy.

~Because of the intimacy of this story, I’ve password protected the film.

BABY | Mathilda, my lovely

I watched this baby girl enter the world, her momma is one of my closest friends, and I’m lucky to have them just across the street. I love this little one. I love her smell, her soft skin, her tiny piggies, her big blue eyes.
I love her momma and daddy, the way we share meals and groceries and diet fails. I love that when I run out of coffee I can text her at an obscene hour and stop over because she knows I might die if I don’t have my necessary cuppa. I’m so lucky that God moved her in across the street. I’m so blessed by the way she mothers her baby and loves on my children, how we know where each others’ keys are hidden and where we each keep our dog food.
I love you guys. I love your daughter. Thank you for letting me be a part of the big days and the every days.

BRIDAL | Dr. Emily

There’s not much that I love more than to spend a day with my photographer friends and work along side them. And when the bride is this gorgeous and this fun, well…. it makes for a lovely afternoon. This was just a little impromptu film I did on the fly while circling Shannon Phillips of Imago Vita Photography.  Emily is a stunning bride, a doctor and avid bird watcher and photographer.  She’s inspiring and smart and funny-  I know if she lived nearby, we’d be friends for sure.

So thankful for friendships and brides and love.

day 3

He is so little still.  He wants me to “ooh” over his muscles and help him make his bed.   He wants me to kiss his hurts and listen to him read aloud.  He desires my praise and my attention and I could sit and watch him all day and laugh at his funny ideas.  He’s just so…. Jack.   happilysituatedwebpretties-37happilysituatedwebpretties-36happilysituatedwebpretties-38He is so beautiful and I’m the luckiest momma to be able to call him mine.

day 2

happilysituatedwebpretties-41Winter has officially ended.   Spring is here.

One thing I miss desperately about Seattle is the gorgeous, frequent soakings.  Drought in Oklahoma just makes everything a little more desolate and a lot more brown.

Today I’m thankful for the sweet, steady, soft rain.

pretty little things

Everywhere I look I see beauty.

Ok, let me rephrase that:  everywhere I look outside of my house, I see beauty.  Pinterest, blogs, photography sites, Instagram… I’m bombarded with how gorgeous everyones’ lives are, and it leaves me feeling ugly, inadequate, dissatisfied.  The irony here is that I do indeed live a beautiful life.  I have a lovely home, a variety of food to choose from, a closet overflowing with name brand clothes, healthy and happy kids, bookshelves full of hand picked literature, a thriving little garden, a loving husband, a reliable car, and more friends than I deserve.

So here’s my mission for the next 30 days.  I’m setting out to see the pretty in my world and document it as I see it.  I’m so lucky to have the camera of my dreams and lenses I love.  I’ve neglected using my big girl camera to capture my own family, my own life, my own nest, instead using it for other people’s families, then tucking it away.  Boo.   No More.

I resolve to open my eyes, to throw away discontent, to live and walk in joy and thankfulness.

CAKESMASH | Little Miss Collins is ONE.

It’s difficult to believe our baby girl is this big this fast. I wish I could put her in my pocket because she’s just that perfect. I LOVE this little gal. Happy Birthday, sweetheart.
